Skype Service Problems

I'm not a heavy Skye user any more, but posts from friends alerted me to a Skype service outage problem this morning.

See more from
Tom Keating - Skype Outage
Andy Abramson - Skype Suffers Major Outage

What's described as an authentication problem results in this on your login screen

It just never moves from connecting to an actual connected state.

I'll try to watch this during the day and post and update later as we learn more.

I hope that someone at skype has the decency to fall on his/her sword over this. There can be absolutely NO excuse for this situation arising, without any form of rollback when things go wrong. No service for 2 days now is a disaster; I am in Poland, and skypein is my only contact for my clients to reach me. Never again will I rely on this third-rate (at best) service.

Yes Mike for those who are using it as a fix line it's a disaster. But then again in their policy it is mentioned that it doesn't replace a land line, be it mobile or fix.

Then again I thought skype was a P2P voip client of some kind.
It's totally weird and they should give their user some form of explanation.

Good days for msn messenger lol
