VON Summaries for Day Three

I confess, doing two interviews on the phone today and spending time writing a post I intended to podcast took some of the wind out of my sails. Nonetheless, here are some VON updates I think are really worth noting.

In case I failed to mention it yesterday, check out Asterisk 1.4 unveiled from Tom Keating. This, coupled with the new Asterisk appliance really is big news on the open source front. See also Asterisk Appliance (from Digium)  from Ted Wallingford. Also just noted Asterisk in the News from Irwin Lazar.

While you're reading Tom's blog post, be sure to look at Global IP Sound releases new iSAC 2.0 codec. I don't know if this was a VON-related announcement or not, but GIPS continues to lead the way with broadband codec technologies.

I can't begin to choose a sequence for these. so they aren't in order of preference, just listed conveniently:
Alec Saunders VoIP Comes to Mobile takes a look at Rebtel and Truphone. Follow the links to Martin Geddes and Andy Abramson's post. Somehow I lost the bookmarks in writing this up.

A special thanks to Alec Saunders. It seems that at Von he dragged Voxilla’s Marcelo Rodriguez into the ray as a VoIP blogger. I'm off to read Tilting at the Windmills of VoIP.  Welcome Marcelo!

I'm sure I've missed something important, but that's what I have at hand for today from VON.
