Apart from the security of your own VoIP traffic, you need to be concerned whether your networking resources are being used without your knowledge or permission to route other people's VoIP traffic.
The references all seem to be "a few years back." in nature. Non-attributed references to vagaries some time in the past don't do anyone any good. They mention 3Com technology of 2000. In Internet life, that's obsolete.
Ths closing is just deplorable journalism.
If your VoIP has not been compromised, consider yourself lucky -- not safe. A prudent network manager will note that with the explosion in VoIP usage across the corporate and consumer landscape, every network and every conversation is at risk.
This is the sort of irresponsible disinformatino that tech savvy managers ignore. There are no sources, there's no substance. All there seems to be is a paranoia that's quite visible.
Don't just accept this sort of reporting without some diligent investigation and substantion. This is fluff and filler and worthless fodder that consuders the real issues.
