Ifbyphone Names Industry Veteran Todd Curry VP of Marketing

The company that's brought Google to the telephone, and created some of the most downloaded business applications for the iPhone on the App Store in recent weeks has recently made a major funding announcement and now follows that with news of the addition of a high-powered hire. Tomorrow, Chicago area - based Ifbyphone will be formally announcing that Todd Curry a veteran of Orbitz, HSBC, Intel, and Boston Consulting Group has moved from its board into the role of the company's first vice president of Marketing.

In his new role, Curry will be addressing small and mid-sized businesses, the technology reseller channel, and applications developers. These audiences are finding Ifbyphone's innovative telephony applications to be competitive tools that are changing the playing field and enabling them to compete with enterprise in ways they never could before.

CHICAGO-Dec. 2, 2008--With demand for its innovative telephony applications exploding, Ifbyphone today announced the addition of Todd Curry, a veteran of Orbitz, HSBC and Intel, to its executive team as the company's first vice president of marketing.

Curry, 40, moves into an operating role at Ifbyphone after having served as a member of the startup's board of directors for a year. Curry was previously the co-founder and president of e-marketing consultancy Ascenda Partners, LLC.

Ifbyphone founder and CEO Irv Shapiro said: "Since Todd joined our board, I have been very impressed with his suggestions on how to accelerate our growth. I'm very pleased he is now taking a hands-on leadership position in the company."

Ifbyphone provides building-block telephone applications to small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). These applications allow SMBs to build powerful enterprise-quality solutions that can reduce their costs, improve their sales effectiveness and track their marketing success.

"This is the perfect time to expand the company's positioning, because at this point in Ifbyphone's evolution, we are truly revolutionizing what SMBs can do with their phone solutions while delivering ease-of-use that will broaden adoption," said Curry.

"As one example," Curry elaborated, "I was talking the other day with the CIO of a mid-sized company and showing him how, with a handful of clicks on our Web site, he could replicate the functionality of his integrated call center--which had originally required $100,000 and months to build. He was incredulous, and his reaction speaks to the capabilities and value that Ifbyphone delivers to midsize companies."

As another example of Ifbyphone "pushing the envelope in technology leadership," Curry cited the company's Google® Analytics integration feature that enables companies to track phone calls as page visits, visible alongside Web-site data in their Google Analytics accounts.

Curry's operating experience includes leadership roles managing the hotel business at Orbitz, running the e-commerce division of HSBC Retail Services and managing channel marketing programs for Intel. Todd also spent six years with Boston Consulting Group. He has an MBA from the University of Chicago's Graduate School of Business and a bachelor's degree in engineering from Northwestern University. Todd and his family live in the Chicago suburbs.
