Unified Communications and Fax Technology from Rightfax

Matt Lambert is a new friend and colleague I've been following for a while now. His Conversationware is always a great read. I remembered one of the earlier pieces of his I read. or maybe in his about page, that he markets a solution called Rightfax among the many things he does.

Fax technology as a piece of unified communications is one of those overlooked nuances that doesn't get much press. Yet it remains critical. Even this past week as my partner and I were exploring a real estate transaction, we found once again that fax will serve as a legal substitue for a "wet signatiure" on paper where there are still no viable electronic signatures yet in that industry.

Today I learned that the non-profit RightFax Users Group spread the word about the formation of this new group, and their inaugural meeting coming up on February 22nd. I thought I'd share this in case any of our readers are around Minneapolis and interested in participating.

MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 21, 2008—The first-ever RightFax® Users Group (RFUG) meeting is set for Feb. 22 in Minneapolis, Minn., at the Embassy Suites Hotel, Bloomington, 8a.m. - 5 p.m. Steve Bouma, GMAC Res Cap senior systems engineer, a veteran RightFax user who is attending the one day event, said, “It’s important to build a RightFax community, so we can share our experiences in solving business issues with fax automation. As the group grows, our hope is to build a library of fax automation best practices something that all members can benefit from tremendously.”

Good memory Ken, and you're so right about fax not going away.

Rightfax is great, extremely reliable and has failover to match these newfangled IPT systems. It's mostly successful because it integrates with everything from UC through to back office.

In fact, the renewal of fax driven by voip and T.38, and MFD integration is keeping us very busy over at Avanquest in the UK.

Ok, advert over, I just couldn't resist the invitation!

Matt
