Truphone Releases Upgrade

I had the pleasure of sitting next to James Body, Network Director at Truphone during a group dinner at a fabulous Indian restaurant in San Francisco at the O'Reilly ETel conference in March. While I don't really use Truphone on a regular basis, that's because I'm in an environment where it doesn't provide a lot of value to me personally. A great number of my friends and colleagues use and swear by Truphone. It's an interesting solution that brings alot of value to a wide swath of users.

I got an email this morning telling me they've got a double-whammy of great news for Truphone users.

They've launched a major new upgrade of Truphone which is available for everyone
to download. This upgrade fixes some bugs and gives you lots of new features to play with too.

Check their blog for full details:

One of the things I really like about Truphone is they go they extra miile to producce some entertaining and useful videos, then put them on YouTube for ease of access. Here's one that takes you step-by-step through the upgrade:

They're also offering all Truphone users FREE mobile calls to 40 countries worldwide until the end of the year. That means you can continue to call around two billion landlines (and some mobiles) at no cost!
