A word about news releases
There seem to be a lot again this week. Remember that VON is underway in Stockholm, and there's lots of conference activity. Supernova 2007 is next week in San Francisco. While I wasn't able to make either one this year, events like this are a great opportunity for vendors and solution providers to announce new things, large and small. They gain visibility and are often presenters at these conferences. For many of them it's a real media blitz.
I get a lot of news release from a wide array of vendors. Many on unrelated to unified communications in any way. These I generally ignore. But I do try to post all the ones I get that are pertinent to our industry. That means some weeks can seem really havey with news release posts. I share them because sometimes I get them posted first before you see them elsewhere. And sometimes I seem to be the only posting some of them. I'm a big believer in sharing information.
If the news releases seem hot and heavy at times, that's why.
