« Press Release: Packet Island introduces new plug-and-play micro-appliance for VoIP lifecycle management | Main | And a Video Welcome to 2007 too »

Welcome to 2007 at the Realtime Unified Communications Community

We're starting off the New Year here at the Realtime Unified Communications community. Time to jump into the swing of things as we look to the exciting changes coming.

This year we'll be doing more podcasts, more video blogging. I'm anticipating doing some other video learning sessions as well. We'll be doing lots of interviews, mostly as podcasts, but some as write-ups along the way.  My goal is to average almost one interview a week, this year. I'd like to have fifty interviews at the end of the year. That's a big goal.

I've got three interviews in the staging queue right now, and they'll be headed your way soon. If there's someone, either a person or a company, that you'd like to hear more about, please drop me a note. It would also help if you include what you'd like to hear about from them. I'm game to go after anyone.

Conferences aplenty are on the 2007 calendar. I'm not sure how many of them I'll get to, but you can be sure the ones I attend will get lots of coverage. I cant' make the ITExpo in Ft. Lauderdale this month, but I am hoping to get to the O'Reilly ETel conference in late February down in San Francisco. I still haven't heard anything from them regarding a press pass, so at the moment, that one's up in the air.

I'm still plugging away at The Definitive Guide to Converged Network Management. Several chapters are available now, with more in progress.

If your focus is security, don't forget that I'll be teaching a one-day workshop on VoIP Security in the Enterprise at InfoSec World in Orlando on March 22nd.

We're still looking for sponsor partners here at the Realtime Unified Communications community. If you've got white papers or content that needs a home, or you're looking for broader exposure, drop me a note. I'll be happy to put you in touch with my colleagues at Realtime Publishers. There are a number of different sponsorship models, and there are options to fit small startup companies. You don't have to be a big player in the unified communications space to leverage us as a resource.

I've been watching the news over the holidays, and it's been somewhat light. That will change quickly as everyone gears up for the coming year. I know there are some intriguing new announcements coming in the next couple of weeks.

As always, if there's something you want to see more of, or less of, drop me a note. Your input is valuable and something we always take seriously.
