VoIP News Top 10 Predictions

Paul Kretowski and I chatted briefly a week or two ago as he was researching this post. I'm humbled to be one of the sources they used in their Top 10 Predictions for 2007. It's an interesting list with some intriguing projections for the year ahead.

Mine were

  • We see companies like Iotum that have a relevance engine to tie in Messenger and Outlook, so we see not only that you’re in a meeting, but who you’re meeting with, and whether it should interrupt.
  • From a standpoint of changing the end-user experience, [the Siemens OpenStage SIP phone] is the biggest change to the telephone set since the ‘60s. ... 2007 will be the beginning of change in the handset—what does it look like and its feature set.
