Wireless seminar yesterday

Yesterday we had the pleasure of sitting in on a wireless seminar sponsored by Strata8 Networks in Bellevue. It was a great session, and lit a fire under me to get more engaged in understanding what Strata8 is doing.

Strata8 is really focused on the idea of eliminating what they call wireless creep to reduce spending in corporate mobile telecommunications. It's a great implementation of technology and when you listen to the numbers and think about where corporate mobile dollars slip down the drain, the approach is very compelling.

Gerry Purdy from Frost & Sullivan and Andy Wilson, EVP of Sales and Marketing at Strata8 did a really nice job with this luncheon learning seminar.

I met with Andy after the session and we'll be getting together in the next few weeks to do a podcast briefing. And in the meantime, I'll do a detailed writeup next week on why this picocell technology holds huge promise for enterprise business.

Special thanks to our friend Leigh Fatzinger for bringing the session to our attention and seeing that we were invited. It was time well spent.
