Agito Networks Announces Former Cisco Exec to Head Sales Team

Agito Networks is a company that recently showed up on my radar. Their Roam Anywhere Mobility Router is a pretty interesting piece of work. I've been working with Dan Spalding, their Director of Marketing Communications to try and coordinate a meeting. We're hoping to get together at the VON conference in a couple of weeks.

Today the company today announced it has named former Cisco Systems sales executive Jeff Dolce as its vice president of Sales. Prior Cisco experience always lends strong credibility to an emerging player like Agito, so I see this as a really positive announcement. Dolce's background in mobile solutions is a great fit for Agito.

AGITO NETWORKS NAMES VP OF SALES, BROADENS DEPTH OF EXPERIENCE OF ENTERPRISE MOBILITY LEADER
Former Cisco Sales Executive Jeff Dolce Named to Lead Sales Expansion of Company Delivering New Enterprise Mobility Appliance for Mobile Convergence

SUNNYVALE, Calif., - March 3, 2008 - Agito Networks, Inc, a company pioneering new technology in enterprise mobility, today announced that it has named former Cisco Systems sales executive Jeff Dolce as its vice president of Sales.

Agito Networks' award-winning RoamAnywhere Mobility Router uniquely fuses 802.11 wireless LANs (WLANs), enterprise IP telephony, and the carrier cellular network, improving accessibility and responsiveness to increase mobile worker productivity (http://www.agitonetworks.com/products/). Agito's innovative, patent-pending location-aware technology allows enterprises to mobilize voice by taking full advantage of their 802.11 WLAN deployments as a low-cost alternative to cellular networks for in-building enterprise mobility. Leveraging voice over WLAN (VoWLAN) enables enterprises to reduce cellular expenses by as much as 60 percent, and avoid deploying costly, carrier-specific equipment to address poor cellular coverage. To ensure a seamless user experience, the RoamAnywhere Mobility Router provides fast, sub-second, automatic handover between the enterprise WLAN networks and any carrier cellular network. This product will be on display in Agito Networks' Solution Provider Showcase Booth L at the Gartner Wireless & Mobile Summit this week.

"The addition of this proven sales leader to our executive team further adds to the growing corporate capabilities of Agito Networks," said Agito Networks CEO Rob Markovich. "Jeff has repeatedly demonstrated his ability to be successful in the wireless and communications sales arenas, and we will rely on his knowledge and expertise as we continue to grow sales and deliver our innovative enterprise mobility products, helping enterprises increase mobile worker productivity and reduce cellular expenses."

Mr. Dolce brings more than 20 years of successful sales and management experience to Agito Networks. Most recently, Mr. Dolce served as the Eastern Area Manager in Mobility Sales for Cisco Systems, achieving 30-percent year-over-year growth rates and earning numerous Cisco top performance awards. He was also a key contributor to Cisco's Mobility Education Initiative. Mr. Dolce came to Cisco by way of its 2005 acquisition of Airespace, where he served as Director of Sales, growing the Airespace business from $0 to $30M in 18 months. Before Airespace, Mr. Dolce worked at Turnstone Systems, most recently serving as Director of Service Provider Sales. Previously, Mr. Dolce served as a sales executive at Newbridge Networks, his last position being Director of Sales for Verizon Network Integration. He holds Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Bryant College, and earned an MBA and Master of Science in Business Training, both from the University of Southern New Hampshire.

"I am excited to join this strong executive team and build upon the traction already gained by the RoamAnywhere Mobility Router, which is clearly differentiated in the industry to best meet the growing enterprise mobility opportunity," said Mr. Dolce. "At Cisco I watched this promising market, which remained unaddressed until the launch of Agito Networks. I know from experience that enterprises prefer the functionality, visibility and control of owning their own mobile convergence platform, and I'm pleased to now be in a position to meet their needs."

The RoamAnywhere Mobility Router is unlike any enterprise mobility solution seen to date. The patent-pending, RF-based location aware technology ensures that in-building calls stay on the enterprise WLAN (using VoWLAN), to reduce cellular expenses and eliminate dropped or poor quality calls. Agito's patent pending sub-second, automatic handover of calls between WiFi and cellular is transparent to users. Agito's solution gives IT administrators the confidence to roll out VoWLAN across their enterprise, knowing the user experience will be as good as their wired phones, and that they can significantly reduce cellular expenses.
