Mobile Internet World Adds Special Session on Impact of New Mobile Application from Google
One of the events I really wish I could participate in this month is the Mobile Internet World conference at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston. I think this will be one of the really important annual events as the conference matures and develops. Mobility is becoming a more vital part of our business life every day, and I think unified communications is rapidly expanding to include more and more mobile solutions.
I can't make the conference, but this session, given all the talk about Google, looks to be interesting. Between what Google is doing with the gPhone concepts, their acquisition of GrandCentral, and other moves they've been making, it's clear that Google understands the powe of mobile solutions. It's also clear that Google will play a role as unified communications matures.
Mobile Internet World Adds Special Session on Impact of New Mobile Application from Google
Yankee Group published a special report by analyst John Jackson today in response to the November 5th announcement of Google’s Android mobile software platform and its Open Handset Alliance entitled “Andriod from Planet Google to Save Mobile Universe”. According to Jackson, “As a comprehensive open source stack, Android is a well-positioned remedy for the underserved promise of accelerated mobile service innovation”.
Mobile Internet World, the world’s first event to focus on the mobile internet, is offering a special session featuring a panel of the major players behind this new alliance. This discussion will center on Android’s position as an apolitical remedy for long-standing barriers to innovation in the mobile universe.
Mobile Internet World will also showcase the mobile internet ecosystem and explain how emerging mobile technologies, products, systems and services are combining into a new ecosystem that will enable the next generation of the internet. The event website is www.mobilenetx.com
