Getting Cracking on some Review Catch-up

With some writing project deadlines I've been chasing, I've fallen behind on some review things I wanted to do here. I'll be working to catch up in the next couple of weeks.

First, as part of the Nokia Blogger Relations Program, I got one of the new Nokia N81 phones to evaluate. It may be Nokia's closest competition to the iPhone, although, I confess that the pure consumer orientation leaves me a bit cold. Then again, I've been pretty unimpressed with the iPhone because it's just unsuitable as a business phone. But I'll be loading up the N81 and doing some playing with it soon.

The Nokia N95 and N800 Internet Tablet both have new firmware releases, so I'll be flashing both with the latest and doing some testing there. And I know that OS2008 for the N800 already has a new Skype release. I'll be exploring that almost immediately.

And speaking of Skype, my friend Jim Courtney over at Skype Journal dropped me a note today asking for my address so that I can get pulled in as one of the bloggers looking at the new Skype high definition video release too. I'm anxious to get to check that out. I know in some way's it stacks up quite differently than my old friends at SightSpeed, so I'm keenly interested in how well it performs.
