Nokia Siemens Networks wins PoC solution contract from China Mobile Group Beijing Ltd. (CMBJ)Espoo, Finland / Beijing, China, June 6, 2007
Under this agreement Nokia Siemens Networks will provide CMBJ with a turnkey solution and support CMBJ in launching a commercial PoC service that will meet the needs of the big 2008 Beijing event.
China Mobile Group Beijing Co., Ltd. (CMBJ) has chosen Nokia Siemens Networks to provide its Push-to-Talk over Cellular (PoC) solution following successful efforts and trials over the past years. The equipment delivery started in May, and Nokia Siemens Networks will provide a turnkey solution including equipment deployment, implementation, care and core planning.
Under this contract, Nokia Siemens Networks will provide a PoC server, Presence server, List Management server, IP backbone and management systems. The Nokia Siemens Networks PoC solution allows CMBJ to offer optimized worksite communications between mobile phones and a dispatcher client running on a PC. In addition to Nokia devices, all Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) PoC standard compliant phones from any vendor are
Nokia Siemens Networks’ PoC solution will enable CMBJ to offer push-to-talk services with user features such as one-to-one and group push-to-talk, user priority, the ability to listen to multiple groups at the same time (scanning), dynamic group creation by users, and fleet management facilities for corporate users throughout the network coverage area. The products and solutions are fully scalable and capable of supporting tens of millions of users in a single network.
Additionally, the PoC solution can also be connected to the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) to enable the development of new and innovative services using push-to-talk. The Presence server and List Management server can also be used for IP multimedia applications other than push-to-talk.
