Yet again, a Nokia N95 power update
I thought I'd discovered the root of my battery life issues with the onboard GPS, but that's clearly not the case.
I have UMTS off. The unit is set to GSM only. I have WiFi scanning off. I have disabled the onboard GPS. Essentially, I've turned the N95 into a stripped down phone with a camera.
Today, after close monitoring, battery life is down to less that 45 minutes untethered. That's right, fully charged to low battery warning in 30 minutes, then power down within another 15 minutes.
I'm sticking the N95 back in the box and shifting back to one of the other N-series phones. I haven't decided whether it's back to the N73 or the N80i, but most likely one of the two.
This may simply be a defective battery that isn't holding a charge. It may be a unit that indicates charging and isn't doing so. It may be a systemic issue given all the talk of power issues I've read.
Whatever the case, in its current operational state, the N95 I have just isn't usable. I have a few photos I'll push to Flick when it's recharged enough, but frankly this unit doesn't have enough power life to evaluate reasonably. Until that gets resolved, I can't do much more with it.

I have had the same issue so it is not your battery. My phone runs out of battery on standby by about 4pm (that is after charging it all night). I am going to return this phone - it is not worth the money!

Do not charge your phone all night, as this will destroy the batteries mememory. In effect destroying the batteries ability to remember how well it had been charged.
Before sending it back here is a tip or two to try out :
Press the button to the left of the the central navigation button for a few seconds(the button with the blue ying and yang type symbol. This will highlight how many applications are running.
For example if you are texting someone and the phone rings then the messaging application will stay open and you need to exit that application pressing the afore mentioned symbol will highlight which applications are open. Try it out. i found in the early days that I had several applications running all draining my battery severally.
Finally try this link for some other good tips
