I got a pitch in email this morning to chat with Paul Arena—CEO and Chairman of i2Telecom. I'm doing a bit of digging and we'll see how that plays out. Interesting to me that they hit talking about a patent for a technology that looks at a glance much like BridgePort Networks MobileSTICK tha I wrote about nearly two years ago. I haven't heard a lot of enws from Bridgeport in some time now, but they popped on the news last month when they were acquired by CounterPath.

I'm reserving judgement for now and will do some digging into i2Telecom. For me, one of the differentiators will be if i2Telecom can do something Bridgeport never achieved - put an eval unit in my hands that I can thoroughly test and wrte up. 

i2Telecom Issued U.S. Patent #7,336,654 for Portable VoIP Service Access Module ("VSAM") or VoiceStick(R)

Technology i2Telecom International, Inc. Given the ubiquitous presence of USB ports and the auto-run capabilities of the softclient application, the VoiceStick® patent positions i2Telecom® to create additional IP value by integrating with numerous other applications now available in today's marketplace.
