Ceragon Unveils Wireless Ethernet Solutions to Deliver a Risk-Free Migration Path to IP Backhaul
Today Ceragon announced its newest generation of its proven high-capacity microwave backhaul solutions - the FibeAir IP-10.
FibeAir IP-10 is a highly integrated solution which targets the mobile backhaul market - aggregation and access - and offers a risk-free migration from TDM to IP. It is the only microwave solution in which TDM and IP networking are integrated into a single compact unit, and offers the best capacity over any given link with an extended throughput range of 10-500Mbps.
With FibeAir IP-10, carriers benefit from a smooth migration with the highest possible capacities, at the lowest overall cost.
Ceragon Unveils Wireless Ethernet Solutions to Deliver a Risk-Free Migration Path to IP BackhaulFibeAir® IP-10 family offers a first-of-its-kind combination of advanced native TDM and native Ethernet networking in a single, highly integrated mobile backhaul platform
TEL AVIV, Israel, March 26, 2008 - Ceragon Networks Ltd. (NASDAQ and TASE: CRNT), a leading provider of high-capacity wireless backhaul solutions, today announced a new family of carrier-grade wireless Ethernet platforms that combine advanced IP and TDM networking to enable risk-free migration with the highest possible capacities at the lowest overall cost. Featuring a powerful integrated Ethernet switch, optional stackable radios with TDM cross-connect for nodal site applications, advanced service management and Operation Administration & Maintenance (OAM) tools - this first-of-its-kind solution powers mobile operators with the ideal platform for migrating traditional backhaul networks to IP.
The new, versatile FibeAir IP-10 family offers a wide capacity range of 10Mbps to 500Mbps over one radio carrier, using a single RF unit, across the entire licensed frequency spectrum - from 6GHz to 38GHz. The solution easily serves the capacity requirements of a single base station as well as those of traffic-intensive hub sites and leaves ample headroom for future capacity enhancements. Advanced Adaptive Coding & Modulation (ACM) helps to maximize spectrum utilization and capacity over any given bandwidth - and under changing environmental conditions.
Featuring enhanced Ethernet networking capabilities to simplify network design and maintenance, the FibeAir IP-10 family helps to reduce CAPEX and OPEX and improve over-all network availability and reliability in order to support advanced services with stringent SLA (Service Level Agreement). FibeAir IP-10 incorporates Ceragon's proven Native2 concept to support native TDM and native Ethernet hybrid architecture - as well as all-IP and pseudowire architectures - requiring little or no external devices and allowing it to integrate smoothly with any network.
"The phenomenal growth in mobile data traffic takes a huge toll out of the operators' network and financial resources, while revenue-per-data-bit is on the decline," said Ira Palti, President and CEO of Ceragon Networks Ltd. "FibeAir IP-10 family offers a risk-free migration path to IP/Ethernet while allowing mobile operators to benefit from simplified installation and higher utilization of radio link budgets. Serving all deployment scenarios and network topologies, FibeAir IP-10 strengthens Ceragon's position and expands our addressable market into the mid to-high-capacity Access backhaul segment."
The FibeAir IP-10 family builds on the wide experience gained with Ceragon's FibeAir IPMAX solutions family which will continue to serve private network and other applications. FibeAir IP-10 solutions will be available in both Native2 and Native Ethernet variants. First commercial release will be available during Q2 2008.
