Unyte 2.5 enhancements include better image quality and peer-to-peer sharing
BILLERICA, Mass.–May 2, 2007— WebDialogs, a leading provider of multimedia conferencing services, today announced it has begun beta-testing version 2.5 of Unyte, the easy-to-use real-time collaboration software that lets users share desktops and applications.
The new version of Unyte features enhanced picture quality and quicker image transition times between host and viewer monitors. It also offers a new remote-assistance capability that lets users accept control of another computer, for example, to edit a document or troubleshoot their product on a customer's computer
And, while the service remains primarily browser-based, version 2.5 offers peer-to-peer sharing between the host and those users who have installed Unyte, creating a direct connection that provides improved performance and experience. In addition, software developers will appreciate the new integration options that enable tighter, more integrated solutions with Unyte.
WebDialogs is seeking users to participate in the beta test, which will run through May 25. The 1-megabyte download is available at http://beta.unyte.net .
“We’re eager to get users’ reactions to the latest version of Unyte,” said WebDialogs CEO Lou Guercia. “We take feedback very seriously because we know that’s the best way to make our products stand out in a crowded marketplace
Two versions of Unyte are available. Unyte Lyte offers basic desktop and application viewing capability between the host and one viewer, and is free of charge. Unyte+ is an upgraded version with additional features such as select application sharing and remote control of applications by participants. Unyte+ costs as little as $30 annually. Unyte Lyte can also be used as a one-click plug-in with Skype, Yahoo! Messenger and Salesforce.com.
