Tadiran Telecom completes a 3 million dollar network for Kazakhmys Copper Corporation in Kazakhstan

Petach Tikva, Israel – April 18, 2007 - Tadiran Telecom, a leading global IP business telephone and communications supplier, today announced the completion of a communication network for Kazakhmys Corporation, the world's tenth largest refined copper producer employing 66,000 workers. Tadiran won this project against fierce competition from Nortel, Avaya, Siemens, Nokia, and Alcatel and has been deploying this intricate solution, comprising 40 systems that support the corporate center and remote mines, over a period of four years. The financial value of the project is about 3 million dollars.

The entire network of over 40 systems is made up entirely of Tadiran’s Coral systems. A hub of networked Coral FlexiCom 6000 systems provides communications to the corporate center and other facilities using QSIG. The remote mines are connected to the central hub via satellite links. Tadiran's solution for the mining industry includes the rugged design of the system cabinets, which obviates the need for special casing, and the special telephones with international mining standards certification.
