Solegy Makes Free VoIP Softphone Windows Available

Since I just chatted with Eric Hernaez from Solegy a week ago, this news really caught my eye this morning. The download link wasn't working a minute ago, but I'll keep an eye on it. I plan on downloading this one and checking it out.

Solegy™ Offers Free VoIP Softphone for Microsoft Windows
Range of Calling Features and Back-Office Functionality in a Hosted Environment

New York, NY–December 18, 2006 – Solegy™, a provider of a hosted VoIP software platform to quickly and easily manage and deploy new applications and back-office services, announced the availability of a free Softphone that will run on Microsoft Windows. The Softphone, based completely on open source code, can be downloaded from the company’s Website (www.solegy.com/demosoftphone.htm) and access to the source code can be obtained through Solegy’s OpenSourceSIP initiative (www.opensourcesip.org).

“We are making the Softphone available to everyone who wants to experience the ease of making VoIP calls through their computer,” said Eric Hernaez, CEO and co-founder of Solegy™. “But, this is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of what we can create for service providers who want to adapt the Softphone for their customers. The basic Softphone we are offering can be customized to not only create a unique look, but to take advantage of the many service management features available in our hosted environment.”
