An update as ITExpo begins to slow down

I feel like I've done a pretty poor job of posting live from the event here in San Diego. I'll offer two reasons, not as excuses, but just by way of explanation.

As you know we recently shifted our face here. That means the blog is now running on MovableType, and as powerful and solid a tool as it is, that means it works differently. As a result, the ease of posting on the run from my Treo has become a challenge that I'm grappling with. I'll figure it out, but mobile posting, and shipping pictures and video up to the site here sort of require my laptop and connectivity at the moment. Given my schedule, I haven't had time to boot my laptop, and at a tech show like this, the WiFi network availability quickly becomes saturated.

The other thing holding me back is just the schedule of gathering information. Today I had briefings with 8 different senior executives from companies in the unified communications space. Got lots of great info, but between the number of briefings and a two hour panel on the evolution from Voice to Video, time is just not a commodity that has allowed for much posting.

I'm going to transfer some pictures in the next few minutes and I'll send up a photo set or two, but for the most part, writing things up and sharing all the things I found here are just going to take some time. It's been a hectic enough week that I'm going to need a couple days to decompress and let my thoughts settle so I can share what I found here coherently.

One thing we will share here - Today I did a brief podcast chat with Dan York from BlueBox Podcast. Dan's got his mixer on the road with him, and we got the ok from our friends at TMCnet, our hosts, to record two panel discussions I'm moderating tomorrow.  Dan's on the panel for the second session, and we're hoping to podcast them in the Bluebox feed, and we'll also podcast them here. So while you missed the Expo, you don't have to completely miss all the sessions. We're going to try to bring you one or two via podcast.
