About Our Community

The Realtime Unified Communications Community brings unified communications approach to IP communications technologies. Using weblogs, podcasting, video, and a digital library, the Realtime Unified Comunications Community explores business and technical issues surrounding Voice over IP, fixed mobile convergence and mobility applications supporting voice services. We explore all sorts of video from broadcast programming to user generated content, and we'll really hone in on the collaborative tools blending voice and video together. As IP Multimedia Subsystems and the Service Oriented Architecture mature, this community will expand to embrace these, and other, emerging technologies in the communcations over IP industries.

 

About Ken Camp

Our community leader is Ken Camp, who has more than 25 years of experience in information technology. Ken is a highly experienced leader who has successfully coordinated a wide variety of major telecommunications and IT initiatives. Ken has worked with private companies and public sector organizations of all sizes to solve complex business issues using innovative IT solutions. His proven track record of success has helped move these networks from the drawing board to reality.

Ken spent 17 years with AT&T and Lucent Technologies designing and implementing voice and data networks. He later worked in the security marketplace and played a key role in early IPSec VPN deployments. As an independent consultant, Ken's primary focal areas include network performance improvement, security practices and the design and deployment of integrated voice and data solutions.

Ken is the author of IP Telephony Demystified - (McGraw-Hill Professional ISBN: 0071406700), and many industry white papers and articles. He lives in Olympia, WA and his personal weblog is online at www.ipadventures.com.
