Breakfast with Jeff Pulver coming - Seattle & Vancouver
Sheryl and I have been working with our friend Jeff Pulver ever since before the VON.x conference in San Jose to help coordinate his breakfast visit to Seattle. Jeff's been doing what I guess we could call the 2008 world tour of Breakfast with Jeff events around the world. We started many months ago, before we knew for sure we'd get to VON, trying to get Jeff to come to Seattle.
At the time, we lived in Olympia, and Jeff hasn't been to Seattle in several years. Things began to take shape, and Jeff's schedule fit, so on June 11th (next Wednesday) is the big day. Oddly enough, we now live in the Spokane area, but that won't stop us. What's a little detail like geography.
Breakfast with Jeff Pulver (and friends) in Seattle is on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 from 8am to 10am at Cutter's Bayhouse, located next to historical Pike Place Market.Cutters is truly the Northwest experience. Against the backdrop of Seattle's Pike Place Market, Cutter's truly defines a spectacular dining experience. They serve globally inspired Northwest cuisine with a sweeping view of Elliott Bay. And they do breakfast too!
For Sheryl and I, it's chance to catch up with Jeff. He's a good friend and we've been watching closely the past few weeks as he explores new ideas and write about them on his blog.
As these breakfast events keep morphing into new social media events in the real world, they sometimes twist into slightly different gatherings. For example, on Wednesday, Robert Scoble will be joining Jeff in hosting this event. I haven't had a chance to ask Robert, but he's always grabbing QIK video, and I have no idea if he'll be doing other video of the breakfast or not.
After breakfast on Wednesday, Sheryl and I are kidnapping Jeff. Not really, but we'll get him to a meeting or two he has there. As part of our GeekSpeekTV series, we're doing some video of A Day in the Life of Jeff. We'll be doing some video and audio interviewing (both live on QIK and canned for later) throughout a day or two. And why just have one breakfast when you can have two? The three of us will be driving up to Vancouver for Breakfast with Jeff Pulver (and friends) in Vancouver the following day.
Dinner plans in Vancouver are vague on Wednesday evening. Jeff's mentioned a BBQ, but I don't know any details.
After more video and networking with another great group of people on Thursday morning, we'll see Jeff off on his trip home to New York, then we'll hit the road back to Spokane ourselves. And I think I have two conference calls already booked for the drive
We're looking forward to some time alone with Jeff to hear about his new ventures and just spend some time with one of the neatest people we know.
We hope that many of you will come join us! If you're at either event, please come say hi to Sheryl and I. We're looking forward to meeting as many new people as we can, and I love getting the chance to meet people who read here.
