Personal Update

Regular readers know that about two weeks ago my life and business partner Sheryl I and moved. It seemed simple enough. We moved from west Olympia, WA to the east side of town. Our new home is a lovely place set in a quiet community around a small lake. We looked at the loop road for walking, the basketball court, clubhouse and pool and saw an ideal place to settle in and enjoy the summer and fall ahead.

While I'm actively involved and engaged in the unified communications universe, I also maintain a full time job. I've been working for the state of Washington for several years in a network security architecture role. Now that's changed. I'm transitioning to a new architecture role in the private sector for a company in the Spokane Valley, so we're moving again. This time across the state.

I'm not leaving my fascination with unified communications behind in any way. How could I? That's a part of who I am and has been for years. But as we move into corporate housing next weekend, there will be a day here and there over the next week or so when I may well miss a news story or not quite catch something going on in the industry. That timing bothers me a bit because I know of a couple upcoming announcements that I really want to do podcast briefings to explore, but I can't work the logistics of editing the audio and posting them in a timely manner.

Rest assured, nothing's changing here. We'll keep on growing and exploring all the interesting and pertinent aspects of unified communications. But I know some of you are curious why we'd move, then move again so quickly and I thought I'd share what's going on.
