Acme Packet Net-Net session border controllers increase Momentum’s security, quality and interoperability

BURLINGTON, MA, MAY 22, 2007 — Acme Packet® (NASDAQ: APKT), the leader in session border control solutions, today announced that Momentum Telecom Wholesale has selected Acme Packet’s Net-Net® session border controllers (SBCs) to secure and extend its private-label digital voice (VoIP) services for business and residential customers. With Acme Packet’s SBCs, Momentum delivers secure VoIP services, while leveraging control over its network and maximizing its service reach and potential. Momentum Telecom Wholesale offers its VoBB (Voice over Broadband) services to independent cable operators and other resellers throughout the U.S., with its voice business displaying growth of over 400% so far in 2007.

To protect and secure its network, Momentum Telecom relies on Acme Packet’s Net-SAFE® security architecture to deliver topology hiding, denial of service (DoS) attack protection and access control. Acme Packet’s admission and overload control features also prevent non-malicious traffic overloads, ensuring network availability and improving call quality. Adaptive hosted NAT traversal supported by the Net-Net platform enables Momentum’s services to reach endpoints behind firewall and NAT devices at the customer premises. Acme Packet’s SIP header manipulation feature allows Momentum to address interoperability challenges and maximize service reach.

“At Momentum, our most important selection criterion is reliability, in both the equipment we use and the partners we work with,” declared Hilaire deSa, Momentum Telecom’s CTO. “Acme Packet has been a rewarding choice in that respect, with the Net-Net SBCs enabling us to provide a high level of quality and security for our network and our customers.”

“Momentum Telecom’s turnkey VoBB wholesale service offers cable operators the opportunity to increase revenue and customer loyalty with a high-quality telephony service,” explained Seamus Hourihan, Acme Packet’s vice president of marketing and product management. “Momentum selected Acme Packet because our SBCs address the critical security, quality and interoperability issues that service providers face in offering these essential VoIP services.”
