A new Skype tool for networking

Messagr launched yesterday to help you find other people to talk to. Messagr is a new presence-based search engine. Register yourself, describe topics that interest you, and give your Skype name. When you want to discuss rugby with someone right now, messagr shows people both interested in those topics and available to talk.
I went and signed up on messagr and poked around a bit. It's an interesting niche application that seems may be of value in finding resources to talk to about specific topics. The concept is that you tag the subjects you're interested in. It's essentially personal tagging of your interests. Others members can click on a subject and see who's interested, but messagr also shows the Skype status and profile information for everyone who's tagged with that topic. An easy way to click "VoIP" for example, and see who's available on Skype that you might want to call or chat with, and a nice simple option to leave voicemail too.
It's new, and not fully mature, but could be a useful tool for people trying to build a network of contacts in a particular subject area. It might also be a way to extend your existing list of contact resources.
Like twttr, which Phoneboy and I have been using for a couple of months now, messagr really plays to a limited audience and specialized use. I've chatted a bit with Joel Selvaduurai, the driving force behind it, and he shows real enthusiasm for improving and enhancing his brainchild. If it sounds useful to you, I encourage you to give it a look.
