Continued Growth for DigiLinea

Some time back I started talking off and on with folks at DigiLinea. Their leadership in moving VoIP services into Latin America has been in the news often for months as their progress continues. Here's the latest press with some numbers indicating their ongoing growth.

DigiLinea VoIP Service
To Be Installed On 100,000 Computer Desktops a Month Across Latin America

Doral, FL, July 17, 2006 – DigiLinea (www.DigiLinea.com), the leading Voice over IP (VoIP) service and infrastructure provider to the US Hispanic and Latin  American markets, announced today that the DigiLinea VoIP service will be  integrated and installed on computer desktops across Latin America.  The DigiLinea PC VoIP program, which will  launch in the Central American and Andean region shortly, will bundle the  DigiLinea VoIP service with all new PC’s and Laptops distributed in the market  by the leading local computer distributors.

New computers will be delivered with the DigiLinea VoIP service pre-installed, pre-configured and ready to use with one click on the DigiLinea desktop icon and with free trial minutes for calls to the US so consumers can try the DigiLinea VoIP service risk free. The computers will also have the DigiLinea website set as the default home page on their internet browsers to make it easy to purchase additional VoIP services from DigiLinea online.

The DigiLinea VoIP service allows for free calling anywhere in the world between any two DigiLinea clients as well as the ability to purchase unlimited calling plans to call any telephone in Latin America or the world.  Clients can also receive calls by purchasing their own personal telephone number from any of the over 100 cities in Latin America covered by DigiLinea.  A key advantage to the DigiLinea VoIP service is not just the ease of use but that clients can now pay for these add on services in their home country and currency in Latin America by simply visiting the same local computer distributor where they purchased their computer.

“Our goal was to make it as easy as possible for consumers and businesses to use the DigiLinea VoIP service regionwide. We know that the average consumer in Latin America does not want to download, install software, and configure services, they just want to click and call. DigiLinea through this initiative has made VoIP easy with the added benefit that
clients can pay for additional services locally in their own currency”, said Gregory Keough CEO and Chairman of DigiLinea.

The offering is especially beneficial to businesses regionwide, as now when they buy computers for their offices they will have the ability to immediately call for free between all employees.  This, coupled with the fact that many Latin American companies have cross border operations, will allow business to quickly lower their costs of operations by using VoIP to interconnect their
offices.

Mr. Keough added, “As DigiLinea has the VoIP products and services that fit the Latin American market, distributors like to partner with us and we have built partnerships with the leading distributors regionwide.  DigiLinea also understands the large differences between operating in Latin America as opposed to the US or Europe, and has solved the big problems that exist in distributing VoIP products in Latin America regarding distribution, fulfillment, marketing, and payment in local currencies.  This is truly a win for all involved in that consumers get instant free VoIP on their desktops for no additional cost and the distributor provides an additional service to their clients that is easy to use and of high value.”

After the initial launch, DigiLinea plans to quickly roll out the program to other distributors in the DigiLinea network.  This will increase distribution to over 100,000 DigiLinea VoIP desktop installations per month, which should rapidly form the largest PC VoIP network in Latin America.
