For those of you who follow us closely here, you'll remember that I interviewed David Mandelstam with Sangoma Technologies back in March (Interview posted here). Sangoma is in the news today with this press release about a new channel partnership as they contniue to find success.

SANGOMA TECHNOLOGIES SELECTS TIKAL NETWORKS AS CHANNEL PARTNER IN ISRAEL AND JORDAN

TORONTO – June 1, 2006 – Sangoma Technologies Corporation (TSXV: STC) (www.sangoma.com), a leading provider of connectivity hardware and software products for VoIP, TDM voice, WANs and Internet infrastructure, has selected Tikal Networks Ltd., headquartered in Petach Tikva, Israel (www.tikalnetworks.com), as a distributor of Sangoma's products in Israel and the Middle East. Gideon Hack who previously served as Sangoma's director and chief technology officer will support Tikal Networks in its sales efforts.

“By partnering with Tikal Networks, we now have the opportunity to extend our presence in Israel and other surrounding countries with a partner who understands the market and is well-known to the local Soft PBX community,” says Sangoma Technologies president and CEO David Mandelstam. “Israel is a center for telecommunications and is the base for more high- tech startups than any other country in the world except the United States. Having Gideon in Israel provides us with a significant opportunity for growing our presence in the local market.

'As chief architect for many of Sangoma's products as well as his 18 years experience in the communications arena, Gideon's knowledge will be invaluable to integrators who are faced with communication challenges.”

Tikal Networks possesses years of experience in setting up wide and local VoIP networks and has proven experience with installations in Israel and abroad.

“As thoroughly skilled players in the VoIP space, we are looking forward to helping IT professionals understand the value and benefits of Sangoma's products in optimizing WAN and voice network infrastructures,” adds Tikal Network's chief operating officer Gil Farkash. “Having set the standard in PC- based connectivity since 1984, Sangoma is the ideal supplier to integrate building high-reliability, cost effective and high-performance products.

“Their current range of digital and analogue voice PCI cards with carrier grade hardware echo cancellation and voice quality enhancement have proven to be world leaders in their class and are optimum platforms for Asterisk and other soft PBX/VoIP applications. Sangoma's five-year parts and labor warranty is indicative of Sangoma's dedication to product reliability and customer support. We will leverage our strategic relationships to strengthen Sangoma's market position in this region.”

Tikal Networks has already implemented Sangoma hardware into its "Crystal Clear" Open Source software that is based on Asterisk project. "Crystal Clear" is a complete PBX in software that runs on Linux and provides many telecommunications features including voice over IP (VoIP). "Crystal Clear" interoperates with almost all standards-based telephony equipment using highly cost effective hardware such as Sangoma's AFT series T1/E1 WAN cards.
