Mazingo Revisited - One More Time

There's a lot of interest in fixed mobile convergence and the coming together of VoIP and WiFi. Earlier this month I posted to brief mentions of a solutions from Mazingo.  The first post was based on my reading of a press release and can be found here. That post led to some contact with Mazingo's chairman and some further exchange of information, a buit of research, and a second post here that even included the technical specs on their new device.

But once information flow starts, it generally continues. Today I got a follow-up email with some more information that I'd like to share with you. Here's an excerpt -

Basically we have two different User Interfaces to our WiFi / GSM CellPhone. One concentrates on delivering short-cuts to Video Entertainment Services the other is aimed at fast access to Data communications. Our market research has indicated these two preferences need specialist approaches, so we addressed them.

We call one Cellphone 'ICED', and the other 'Voyager'. Google Search: maing+ICED or mazingo+voyager.

What this means to the user is that we are listening to their requirements. Included with our Cellphone will be a multi-channel Router in which each channel has it's own MAC address ( the first product to offer this and which is subject to patent applications). What this means to the user is that they can have dedicated, totally secure, Channels; for example: to Mazingo's VOIP and Entertainment Services; to their own PC or to their Company's Servers.

It also means that users can 'plug-in' our Router into any Broadband Network and it automatically 'Tunnels' directly to our Servers across the worldwide Internet. Then when our Handset is switched-on, it automatically links to the Router for instant access to VOIP and Services. So setup is totally  painless.

The Mazingo Router also has 'Mesh' technology on-board. This means every purchaser contributes to the Establishment of a NEW WORLDWIDE WiFI NETWORK - The People's Network. Where every Mazingo Handset purchaser has communications with every other purchaser tTotally Free of Charge. Result:  No more sky-high Roaming Charges from the Mobile Network Operators.

We offer a disruptive technology that has been designed for Users of The Internet.
As I said in my second post earlier, I think Mazingo's on to something that bear's watching. I know I'll be watching their progress. And how can you not like a company that says - We offer a disruptive technology that has been designed for Users of The Internet. That's a real clear position to take.
