Improvements and Changes at the Realtime VoIP Community

We've been making several changes and enhancements on the Realtime VoIP Community and here on the community blog. First, and perhaps most obvious, you'll see some new icons here and there. The podcast and weblog icons you see here will show up and several pages within the VoIP Community itself

"The Realtime-VoIP Community is dedicated to addressing your mission-critical questions about everything VoIP.  Use any of the methods described below to pose a question to community leader and VoIP expert Ken Camp.  He will answer you!"

Aside - Ok, I have to inject a comment here. That's copy from the site, as are several parts of this post. My good friends at Realtime view me as the VoIP expert. I'm not an expert in everything VoIP by any means. After a couple of books and a few years in the field, I have some expertise in some areas. I also have a persistent nature. So if I don't know the answer to a question, I'll tell you I don't know. Then I'll go find someone who does. A part of what I'll do is chase down the people who do have the answers.

Email your question Minimize
Email your questions to ken_camp@realtimepublishers.net and we will post them to the Ask Ken Discussion Forum, where Ken will post his answer. Unless you specify otherwise, all questions will appear from either the site administrator (username: voip-dknight) or from Ken himself (username: kencamp).  If your question pertains to any of the existing forums, then we will move it to the appropriate forum area (but don't worry, we'll let you know!)  So send over your VoIP questions!

Post your question to the Conversation Minimize
If you are a Realtime-VoIP Community member, feel free to post your questions directly to the Ask Ken Discussion Forum.  Ken will be sure to address any and all of your questions.

Skype your question Minimize
Skype Ken Camp and pose your question to his Realtime-VoIP hotline message box.  Your question and Ken's response will be posted by the site administrator to the Ask Ken Discussion Forum, so be sure to check back soon after submitting any questions.  Click the "Skype me!" icon below, or call Ken's Realtime-VoIP message box at: (360) 450-5907.

Instant Message your question Minimize
You can IM your question to Ken's MSN Messenger account.  His MSN ID is ken@ipadventures.com. Your question and Ken's response will be posted by the site administrator to the Ask Ken Discussion Forum, so be sure to check back soon after.

Important
If you send a question, via email, Skype, or by leaving it on my voicemail at
(360) 450-5907, please let me know if it's ok to use your name and any identifying information. We're very sensitive to your privacy and I won't use anything identifiable without your permission. This is as important for the voice questions as email, because as we evolve, I anticipate using your questions left on Skype or the voice mailbox in podcasts when and where we can. And that voice mailbox may be come an easy way for people to contribute to the podcasts as we continue to evolve.

And just to give you one more resource that you may find valuable, here's a link to IP Telephony Demystified. While it was published a few years back, I'm finding it's being used in quite a few college courses and I've had a lot of queries directly from readers lately.

It's important that you know my role with the Realtime VoIP Community efforts is to help facilitate getting you the information you need to make an informed decision about VoIP deployment in your environment.
